    Shobha Surendran in hospital, Sivarajan steps in

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state general secretary Shobha Surendran, who had been on an indefinite hunger strike for the past 10 days, was arrested and shifted to the Medical College Hospital here on Friday, after her health deteriorated.
    The party’s vice-president N Sivarajan has begun the strike after Surendran’s arrest.
    Surendran started her hunger strike on December 19 after BJP leader C K Padmanabhan, who had been observing the strike for nine days, was shifted to relay hunger strike was started by BJP state general secretary A N Radhakrishnan on December 3, raising various issues, including the arrest of party general secretary K Surendran, and prohibitory orders in Sabarimala.
