Born Annie Lucasta Rogers in 1879 in the lumbering town of Patten, Maine, Rogers was the fourth of seven children born to Col. Luther Bailey "L. B." Rogers and Mary Elizabeth Barker Rogers. Her childhood was spent on a small farm,^[1] with vacations at the family's isolated camp at nearby Shin Pond, where pristine woodlands abutted the quiet lake. Hemali joined Harmless 2024 as a Finance, Benefits, Housing and Debt Advisor (Project Worker) within the self harm and crisis pathways. Her role is to provide practical interventions for service users and to alleviate some of the practical problems people face.

Hemali has a corporate background but her own lived experience of self harm and living with mental health conditions were instrumental in her drive to join the Harmless team. She committed to helping people, and wants to provide hope and a safe space to those in need.

Hemali is particularly passionate about working within the community, researching support schemes and local charities to create accessible links to empower individuals in receiving help, as well as advocating for people too.

Outside of work she loves to swim, cook up scrappy vegan meals and attempt to keep up with her Spanish on Duo-lingo.
