He is the son of actor Martin Sheen and the older brother of Charlie Sheen. Estevez made his theatrical film debut in drama film Tex (1982). As one of the actors associated with Brat Pack, he is notable for starring in coming-of-age drama films such as The Outsiders (1983), The Breakfast Club (1985), St. Elmo's Fire (1985), as well as the cult science fiction / comedy film Repo Man (1984).
