Ricchi e Poveri (pronounced[ˈrikkiepˈpɔːveri,-kje-]; "The Rich and The Poor") is an Italian pop group formed in Genoa in , originally consisting of Angela Brambati, Angelo Sotgiu, Franco Gatti and Marina Occhiena. Active since the late s, they have sold over 20 million records.[1]
History

[edit]The group was formed in in Genoa as a polyphonic quartet by singers Angela Brambati, Angelo Sotgiu, Franco Gatti and Marina Occhiena in They were all originally of the city, with Sotgiu having Sardinian roots from Trinità d'Agultu e Vignola. The band got their name from Roman songwriter Franco Califano who once joked that they were "spiritually rich and financially poor". The quartet earned its own unique vocal style, based on the intertwining of four different voices: bass (Gatti), tenor (Sotgiu), alto (Occhiena) and soprano (Brambati).

Życiorys
[edytuj | edytuj kod]Dzieciństwo spędziła w Roccaforte Ligure w prowincjiAlessandria, natomiast młodość w Genui, gdzie w r. założyła trioI Preistorici, w którym występowała do r. (w latach – nagrała z tym zespołem trzy single). W tamtym czasie nazywano ją „genueńską Ritą Pavone”. Pracowała wówczas, jako ekspedientka na stacji benzynowej. W r. Francesco „Franco” Gatti i Angelo Sotgiu zaprosili ją do stworzonej przez siebie grupy Ricchi e Poveri (wówczas jeszcze pod nazwą Fama Medium)[1]. Wkrótce do zespołu dołączyła koleżanka Angeli ze szkoły śpiewu – Marina Occhiena. Wspólnie stworzyli kwartetpolifoniczny, który stał się znany w całym kraju. Wraz z tą grupą reprezentowała Włochy na Konkursie Piosenki Eurowizji w r. i uczestniczyła w licznych festiwalach w San Remo, zdobywając dwukrotnie 2. miejsce (w r. i r.) i 1. miejsce w r. z piosenką „Se m’innamoro”. Koncertuje do dziś, od maja r. występując w duecie z Angelo Sotgiu. Śpiewała na koncercie w Zakopanem („Sylwester Marzeń” /).
